The FKCCI 2025 General Assembly: A Key Moment for the French-Korean Business Community
On Thursday, March 13, 2025, the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) held its annual General Assembly. This evening was an opportunity to share the key highlights of the past year, present the FKCCI’s statutes changes and strategic perspectives for the years ahead, and elect new Board Members.
The General Assembly began with an opening speech by Mrs. Sonia CHAIEB, CEO of FKCCI, introducing the first part of the event, an exceptional Extraordinary General Meeting led by Mr. David-Pierre JALICON, Chairman of FKCCI. During this session, he presented and submitted to a vote key amendments to the Chamber’s statutes that will shape its future.
Among the major changes, the number of board representatives was increased from 15 to 18 to better reflect FKCCI’s growing membership. Additionally, the Chamber’s Korean name was officially changed from 한불상공회의소 (Hanbul-Sanggong-Hoeuiso) to 주한프랑스상공회의소 (Juhan-Peurangseu-Sanggong-Hoeuiso), while its English name remains unchanged. This rebranding underscores FKCCI’s commitment to strengthening its presence and identity within the Korean business and institutional landscape.

The Ordinary General Meeting followed with the presentation of the Chamber’s annual activity and financial reports by FKCCI’s CEO and Mr. Gérald Massenet, Treasurer. The reports highlighted steady revenue growth, driven notably by FKCCI’s business services, positioning it as the 5th highest-earning foreign CCI worldwide in terms of business revenues.
Then, Mr. JALICON shared his vision for 2025 and beyond, outlining FKCCI’s goals for strengthening French-Korean economic ties. The Chamber aims to expand “Forecast” events on key topics like marketing and HR, relaunch sectorial committees to enhance industry connections, and establish a dedicated advocacy service. He also introduced "Maison France", a project designed to bring key activities under one roof, enhancing the presence of French businesses in Korea. Addressing FKCCI’s need for additional space, particularly for its Business Center, this hub will offer multifunctional areas for networking, events, exhibitions, and promotions, strengthening business exchanges. FKCCI plans to finalize this project by 2026, a pivotal year marking both its 40th anniversary and 140 years of diplomatic relations between France and Korea.
Lastly, the candidates for the Board of Directors were introduced to the audience, followed by an anonymous voting process. The election results were then revealed during the networking cocktail, offering participants a relaxed and engaging atmosphere to connect and exchange.
