FKCCI's Gala Gathered 700 Guests to Celebrate with Anticipation the Paris 2024 Olympic Games!
Relive FKCCI’s exceptional 2023 Gala: Celebrating Paris, the City of Champions, held on December 15th in the heart of Seoul.
While Paris prepares to host the Summer Olympic Games for the first time since 1924—an opportunity to showcase the excellence of French culture globally—on December 15th in Seoul, the French Korean Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual gala with the theme "Paris, the City of Champions," aspiring to set the stage for a victorious year. That night, the Grand Hyatt Seoul transformed into a grandiose stadium, welcoming over 700 guests from the Franco-Korean business community for a magical celebration honoring the French capital and the values of excellence, respect, and friendship that unite our two nations.
Hosted by famous French Korean TV personalities Ida Daussy and Fabien Yoon, the gala kicked off with an Opening Ceremony featuring esteemed guests H.E. Mr. Philippe Bertoux, French Ambassador to Korea; Mr. David-Pierre Jalicon, FKCCI’s Chairman; and Jean-Pierre Raffarin, President of Fondation Prospective & Innovation and former French Prime Minister. The event was officially inaugurated as Mr. Jean-François Lamour, Olympic Double Gold Medalist in Saber, Vice President of Ovalto, and former French Minister of Sports, joined forces with Mr. Ha Tae-Kwon (하태권), Korean TV personality and Olympic Gold Medalist in Badminton, in a poignant torch relay.

Throughout the evening, guests were immersed in the Parisian excellence and spirit of sport, thanks to the breathtaking decors designed by DPJ & Partners and a diverse array of mesmerizing performances. A captivating fencing duel unfolded, showcasing the incredible skills of two rising foil athletes under the expert guidance of Jong-Hwang Ko (고종환), International Fencing Federation referee and former coach of the Korean National Team. The B-Boy crew Almighty Hoodz later took the stage for a spectacular show, introducing one of the four new disciplines of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games: breakdancing!
The night's highlight was an unforgettable musical concert by Notre Dame de Paris. The FKCCI proudly welcomed the Korean troupe of this globally acclaimed French musical staple, featuring famous actors and singers Michael K. Lee (마이클리) and Kim Seung-Dae (김승대), along with their gifted singers and dancers. As the very first notes resonated, guests were immediately transported to the heart of Paris.
While all eyes were on the performers, guests' palates savored a fine French menu meticulously designed for the occasion, accompanied by high-end wines from Château d’Issan 2018, Château Pédesclaux 2015, and Château Lafon-Rochet 2019, as well as champagne from Pernod Ricard.
Continuing the tradition, the FKCCI held its Lucky Draw contest, offering exceptional prizes including business class plane tickets, nights in French castles, luxurious hotel stays, VIP shopping experiences, luxury cosmetic product baskets, athletic gear, and more. There were many occasions to win prizes such as during the Asiance Quiz. Adding a thrilling twist to the gala, a special auction was introduced, featuring a uniquely meaningful prize for the French Korean community – a Paris Saint-Germain football team jersey personally signed by the superstar player Lee Kangin (이강인)! While some were fortunate enough to win, no one left empty-handed as everyone received a gift bag, generously provided by our sponsors L’Oréal, Castelbajac, Pernod Ricard Korea, and Van Cleef & Arpels. To conclude the gala, guests danced the night away to the beats of DJ EMOSI, indulging in cocktails provided by Pernod Ricard Korea.
