FKCCI hold the Bastille Day 2022 at Floating Island for the first time in 2 years!
On 14th July, The French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) gathered more than 900 participants in the heart of Seoul to commemorate the Bastille Day which is the greatest occasion to celebrate the French National Holiday.
Celebrations for Bastille Day are yearly held amongst French community all over the world with parties and grand fireworks. In Korea, the FKCCI has come back with a new edition 2022 of Bastille Day after 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic that placed restrictions on public gatherings. Held in partnership with the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Korea, the event took place at Floating Island on the Han River and all participants were invited to enjoy French Art-de-Vivre through high-end French champagne, wine, and delicacies like cheese and delicatessen throughout the evening.
During the reception, visitors were welcomed with special gifts prepared especially for the participants by L’Oréal and Andros, and could discover lavish, delicious French food via event partners’ booth. There were various types of F&B booths that served ‘The Ranch Brewing’ Beer, ‘SASSY’ Ciders, ‘France Gourmet’ Charcuterie, ‘Opia’ Sparkling Chardonnay, a glass of ‘Lillet’ aperitif and Mumm champagne by ‘G.H.Mumm’, a bottle of Orangina and Evian through the aisle to the convention hall and in Villa de Noche hall.
Celebrations moderated by Ms. Daussy, kicked off at 8 pm with welcoming remarks of Mr. David-Pierre Jalicon, Chairman of the FKCCI and Mr. Julien Cats, First Counsellor at the French Embassy to South Korea. Following the welcoming speeches, the splendid fireworks were launched from a boat on the Han River and people could admire dazzling bursts of light across Seoul’s night sky from the rooftop and on the terrace.
At 9 pm, music performances began with a classical concert featuring Chanson J Quartet, to please the ears through contrabass, piano, vocal and drums. Meanwhile, top Lucky Draw prizes offered by generous partners were presented on the stage, the winners of which won special gifts as well as the winners of photo and best dressed contest.
The event ended with performances by French-Korean rising DJs, Emosi, Suhèr Chandi, DJ Méchant Chaton, combining disco and house music who led up the mood for the dance party.
FKCCI Bastille Day 2022 was the ideal occasion for the French Korean community to gather and celebrate the friendship between our countries!
