Trend Korea 2025: FKCCI Hosts Expert Rando Kim for Insightful Breakfast Event
On Thursday, January 16th, 2025, the French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) successfully hosted its first event of the year, a breakfast lecture featuring renowned professor Rando Kim. Known for his expertise in consumer trends and his bestseller Trend Korea 2025, Professor Kim provided attendees with valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges shaping the year ahead.
Opening the event, FKCCI Chairman David-Pierre Jalicon recalled his recent meeting with Acting President Choi Sang-Mok on January 9th. During this meeting, Acting President Choi emphasized measures to restore predictability and stability in Korea amidst ongoing economic and political uncertainty. These efforts reflect Korea’s commitment to maintaining economic resilience and credibility both domestically and internationally.

He highlighted that while the global economic landscape resembles a desert, with growth stagnation and social unrest, the snake’s unique ability to sense vibrations, detect subtle environmental changes, and adapt to diverse conditions offers a metaphorical guide for businesses and individuals striving to thrive this year.
During his presentation, Professor Kim explained major trends shaping 2025, such as "Snake Sense", which emphasizes the importance of heightened awareness and adaptability in an unpredictable world. He also discussed "Omnivores," reflecting the shift toward broader and more diverse target audiences as consumption habits defy traditional stereotypes. He further explored the concept of "#VOD" (short for “A Very Ordinary Day”), which highlights the growing appreciation for finding happiness in simplicity, and the "Topping Economy," showcasing the increasing demand for product customization, such as decorative crocs pins or personalized bag keyrings.
