Thales Partners with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to Launch 'Trust my Tech Korea' Program Supporting Korean Startups in Digital and Deep Tech

Global technology leader Thales has announced the launch of its Trust my Tech Korea program in partnership with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups(MSS) and the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development(KISED). This initiative aims at supporting Korean startups in the fields of digital technologies and deep tech, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, connectivity, cybersecurity and quantum technology. Thales has already been collaborating with startups in global cities like Paris and Montreal through its global innovation hub, Thales Digital Factory. This program will help innovative and creative Korean startups to expand into the global market.

On July 17, 2024, Thales signed an agreement with MSS and KISED at the Startup Hub Center in Gangnam, Seoul, committing to continuously support Korean startups in achieving innovation in aerospace, defense, space, digital identity, and cybersecurity sectors. This agreement is seen as a key milestone to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean startups and help them expand into global markets.

This ‘Global Partnership Program’ is a public-private partnership startup support initiative led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and KISED. Startups selected for the program will receive commercialization funding (up to KRW 200 million) from the Ministry and specialized programs. In addition, they will be provided with a tailored acceleration program from Thales experts. They will gain strategic insights into high-growth markets in AI, big data, connectivity, cybersecurity and quantum, and will have the opportunity to connect directly with Thales' global network and potential customers.

The application deadline is February 26, 2025, and Thales will select 10 startups for the program. Through this initiative, Thales aims to support Korean tech startups in having a larger impact on the global stage, strengthening technological innovation and cooperation between the two countries.
