Cosmetic Valley and Jeju Technopark join forces on Jeju's cosmetics and beauty industry
On April 25th, the global French cosmetics cluster, Cosmetic Valley, and Jeju Technopark signed a MOU at the FKCCI office in Gangnam, Seoul, focusing on Jeju's cosmetics and beauty industry.
Ms. Franckie Béchereau, Deputy CEO of Cosmetic Valley, the largest beauty industry cluster in France and a member of the FKCCI, met with Mr. Moon Yong-Seok, Director of Jeju Technopark, and committed to collaborating on joint projects, R&D, technical consultation, and business support.
The agreement aims to provide Jeju-based cosmetic companies with an opportunity to expand globally by leveraging Jeju's pristine image and natural resources, while also fostering the development of Jeju's beauty industry cluster. Established in 1994, Cosmetic Valley is the world's first academic-industry cluster in the beauty sector, supporting various aspects of cosmetics, from plant cultivation to the production and distribution of finished products to enhance the competitiveness of the cosmetics industry.
Boasting a membership of over 100 French cosmetics companies such as Guerlain and Yves Saint Laurent, along with global players like Amorepacific and Shiseido, Cosmetic Valley also signed an agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government in October of last year to boost the industry. Mr. Moon expressed, "Strengthening our collaboration with Cosmetic Valley presents an excellent opportunity for Jeju companies that utilize local ingredients to gain visibility on the international stage and expand their export prospects."
