The French School of Seoul - English and History-Geography teacher
The French School of Seoul is recruiting for the 2025-2026 school year
→ an English and History-Geography teacher in English (Middle School).
The position would be available from September 1st, 2025.
Job description
The teacher will deliver the programs of the French Ministry of National Education.
In close collaboration with their French-speaking colleagues, they will provide part of the teaching of the French program in English, the two teachers of the same class level sharing the lessons while ensuring harmonization of the distribution by subject, time volume and scheduling.
They will have to manage the classes and regulate learning, with the constant concern to take into account the diversity of the students.
Their commitments to teamwork will be permanent. They will work in particular with the other teachers of English and History-Geography.
They will participate in consultation meetings with the teaching and disciplinary team, in class councils and in all meetings with the parents organized by the school.
They will participate in the implementation of the school project of the Lycée Français de Séoul, both in their teaching and through the actions carried out by the school.
Type of Contract
1 year fixed-term contract, renewable once with the possibility of switching to permanent contract after two years.
Work time
Part-time – to be defined according to the school’s needs.
Candidate profile
The candidate must have at least two years of professional experience as a teacher of English and History and/or Geography, AP level preferred, in a school and in an international environment.
The candidate must preferably:
- be of American or Canadian nationality;
- be a native speaker of English;
- hold a degree in Education with a specialization in History, Geography, or Social Studies issued by an American or Canadian university.
Priority will be given to candidates with a minimum level B1 proficiency in the French language (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), so as to be able to communicate orally and in writing in French with all members of the school community in all situations (institutional meetings, interviews, administrative and school forms, etc.).
Priority will also be given to candidates who already hold a visa allowing them to work in Korea (F2, F4, F5, F6; F3 or E7 to be converted).

- A resume
- A cover letter
- Copy of passport and resident card for applicants settled in Korea
- A criminal record check (or a copy of a document certifying that the application is in progress)
- A copy of diplomas and qualifications
- All documents that can support the application.
In the event of recruitment, the candidate must produce an extract from the criminal record, a recognized diploma of minimum Bac+3 level or equivalent and all the documents attesting to professional experience of at least two years.
