The French Embassy in Korea and KISED sign a cooperation agreement
The French Embassy in Korea and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday 23rd, thus formalizing a rich cooperation initiated several years ago.
This agreement shows the desire of the two countries to promote bilateral cooperation in order to boost the international development of their startups.
The same day, 5 Korean start-ups could pitch their solution in the framework of the Global Acceleration Program (GAPS) of KISED, which enables market research & industry expert mentoring to go international and join global incubators. The French incubator of HEC situated in Station F has been partnering up with KISED to accelerate Korean startups. Although the later could not go to France this year due to the global pandemic, the Korean start-ups could pitch and have remote networking as well as counselling opportunities.
KISED is the main Korean organization which supports the growth of startup businesses & job opportunities and promotes the technology-based startups of future entrepreneurs by cultivating entrepreneurial spirit. They are a main stakeholder in the biggest startup festival in Korea, COMEUP, which was held on November 19th-21st on a virtual platform to meet the startups leading the post-pandemic future.
KISED is also actively involved in the cooperation between French and Korean startups ecosystem. Last year, the institution supported the Korean-French Tech4Good Summit organized by the FKCCI and the French Tech Community Seoul at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, which gathered more than 250 participants around technological innovations in key sectors for a better tomorrow: climate change, social issues, health, mobility, .... B2B meetings as well as a pitch contest of 11 Korean start-ups were also held to create business opportunities and allow Korean technological solutions to have visibility in France.
