The 2021 Selection of the MICHELIN Guide Seoul will be unveiled on November 19, 2020
The MICHELIN Guide will reveal its new 2021 selection of restaurants on November 19, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, this 2021 MICHELIN Star Revelation will take place as a live digital event. Thanks to a live broadcast on Naver TV, the official Facebook and the YouTube channel of the MICHELIN Guide, anyone will be able to discover Korea’s starred restaurants for 2021.
Celebrating its 5th anniversary this year, the MICHELIN Guide Seoul plays an important role in promoting Seoul to local and international gourmets as a gastronomic and must-see destination, and offered 31 starred restaurants in 2020.
For this new edition, the MICHELIN Guide will introduce some novelties to its Korean selection, like the “MICHELIN Green Star”. This brand new distinction has joined the MICHELIN Guide’s ecosystem this year, and aims to shed light on restaurants committed for a more sustainable gastronomy and developing impacting and virtuous practices.
In addition, the MICHELIN Guide will highlight the talent and commitment of restaurant teams, who put all their passion and know-how to create unforgettable gastromic experiences. This year, the MICHELIN Guide will announce two MICHELIN Awards with its partners; the MICHELIN Guide Mentor Chef Award with Genesis and the MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award with Blancpain.
The official partners of the MICHELIN Guide Seoul 2021 include Korea Tourism Organization, Genesis, Blancpain, Naver, Terra, and the event partners of this year are Kakao, Taittinger and San Pellegrino. Also in collaboration with Kakao, this 5th publication of the MICHELIN Guide Seoul will be specially illustrated with its ‘Ryan’ character.
The MICHELIN Guide Seoul 2021 Bib Gourmands selection will be announced one week prior to the starred selections.
First published in 1900, the MICHELIN Guide is a culinary guide book that started as a review guide of various restaurants and accomodations for motorists. Today, the MICHELIN Guide still selects the best restaurants and hotels, with its strict and fair criteria of assessment, and has earned its reputation as the most privileged guide for restaurants and hotels by industry practicians and readers, all around the world. The MICHELIN Guide has recently introduced Belgrade and Slovenia in its destinations, bringing the total number of titles to more than thirty.
