French Ambassador to Korea Philippe Bertoux along with key officials from the French Embassy including Economic Counselor and Commercial Counselor visited Renault Korea's Busan plant on February 23rd. “Expectations for the success of Renault Korea's Aurora project increased.”
Renault Korea Motors (CEO Stephane Deblaise) invited French Ambassador to Korea Philippe Bertoux to visit the Renault Korea Busan plant on February 23rd.
The Ambassador toured the main facilities of the Busan plant along with key officials from the French Embassy, including Adeline-Lise Khov, Economic Counselor and Head of the Economic Department of the French Embassy, and Matthieu Lefort, Commercial Counselor and Business France Korea Representative.
Renault Korea's Busan plant is evaluated as having the best level of production quality among the plants in the world of Renault Group, a global automobile company representing France.
Accordingly, Renault Korea is responsible for the development and production of high-end D and E segment vehicles as one of five global hubs for the global market outside of Europe under the Renault Group's 'Renault Brand International Game Plan' strategy.
“Seeing the Korean national flag and the French flag hanging together inside the Busan plant was a powerful reminder that Renault Korea is playing an important role in both Korea and France. After experiencing the Busan plant, which is producing amazing results, expectations for the success of Renault Korea's Aurora project also increased.” Ambassador Philippe Bertoux said.
Renault Korea plans to introduce various electrified models to domestic and overseas markets through the ‘Aurora’, a project name to develop the next-generation eco-friendly vehicles. The hybrid D SUV, scheduled to be launched in the second half of this year as the first model of the Aurora project, will be launched as a new model rather than a successor to Renault Korea's existing vehicles.
Meanwhile, French Ambassador to Korea Philippe Bertoux, who took office in July of last year, previously served as Director of Strategic Affairs, Security, and Disarmament at The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Ambassador to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
