DPJ&Partners, Architecture, awarded for the Hankuk Carbon composites R&D Center.
The Hankuk Carbon composites R&D Center located in Magok Dong (Seoul) and design by DPJ&Partners, Architecture, for a total built area of 8000m² has been awarded with two international prestigious prizes: The Red Dot 2024 (Germany) and the IDEA 2024 (US).
Those organizations have recognized an innovative and remarkable design combining the possibilities of composites materials while expressing the genuine brand identity of the client. Indeed, the progressive weaving façade is made of precast GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) panels and all building canopies (arches and roof) with honeycomb aluminum panels both developed and produced by the client for this project. Considering, the perfect interaction in between the architect/CEO of DPJ &Partners, M. David-Pierre Jalicon and the creative director of Hankuk Carbon, Ms. Victoria CHO, they have been co-awarded.

Le projet de centre de recherche et développement pour les matériaux composites de Hankuk Carbon situé dans le quartier de Magok à Séoul et dessiné par DPJ&Partners, Architecture, sur une surface construite de 8000m² a été récompensé de deux prix internationaux prestigieux : le Red Dot 2024 (Allemagne) et le IDEA 2024 (Etats Unis).
Ces deux organisations ont reconnu le design innovant et remarquable du projet qui combine les possibilités des matériaux composites avec l’expression de l’identité propre au client lui-même producteur de ces matériaux. En effet, les textures progressives de la façade qui expriment le processus du tissage sont réalisées en panneaux de GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) et les auvents d’entrée et du toit sont réalisés en panneaux d’aluminium anodisé renforcés par une structure en nid d’abeille. Reconnaissant la parfaite interaction entre l’architecte David-Pierre Jalicon (DPJ&Partners, Architecture) et la directrice de la création de Hankuk Carbon Mme Victoria Cho, ils ont été désignés co-lauréats.
