DB Schenker awarded Best Rail Freight Service Provider
The prestigious prize was presented at this year’s Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards (AFLAS) held in Shanghai on June 14, 2016.
DB Schenker, one of the leading global logistics service providers, has been honored as Best Rail Freight Service Provider. The prestigious prize was presented at this year’s Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards (AFLAS) held in Shanghai on June 14, 2016. After having been awarded with the AFLAS in all major logistics related categories in the past including Best Logistics Service Provider – Sea Freight and Air Freight as well as Best Road Haulier, DB Schenker now received the distinction also in the newly added category of Best Rail Freight Service Provider.
DB Schenker has been a pioneer in the development of multiple railway transportation services linking China to Europe, Central Asia, Russia and Mongolia since 2011. Ever since, the logistics giant has been leading the rail logistics sector by steadily enhancing its rail freight solutions in terms of costs, lead time and service options. Compared to when the service first started by providing exclusive block train services to dedicated customers, clients are now also able to send single container and container groups (FCL) as well as small volumes as LCL shipments by rail with DB Schenker.
“We are able to combine our rail door-to-door transportation solutions with other transport modes including air, road and ocean freight, and also offer complementary services such as customs consultation, load planning, consolidation, security service, winter protection, DB SCHENKERsmartbox and contract logistics services if required”, says Daniel Wieland, Senior Vice President of Multimodal Solutions.
“We are thrilled and truly honored by this recognition from the customers and industry. Winning this award is a strong testimony to our efforts in the continuous development of our rail freight product. We are grateful to our committed team for delivering sustainable service excellence to our customers in Asia and worldwide,” says Ditlev Blicher, CEO of DB Schenker in Asia Pacific.
