JOB SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The position manages all production planning related matters, to create, modify, and manage production schedules according to the demand. The production planner’s responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management, and facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers. The person in the position should also be able to closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget.

To be successful as a production planner, the person in the position should be knowledgeable of material requirements planning and able to manage production deadlines. Ultimately, an exceptional production planner should demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES

Production Planning

  • Review sales forecasts and current orders to assess inventory status and upcoming production needs
  • Manage the products portfolio including sourcing coordination set up and Business Continuity Plan
  • Create/evaluate/modify purchase orders to support developed production schedules
  • Verify resource availability (material, equipment, and labor) required for production to deliver excellent customer service at optimal inventory levels
  • Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production
  • Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality
  • Monitor and drive required changes to production schedules to ensure that customer service deadlines are met
  • Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner
  • Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of an improved Production Planning system

 

Procurement

  • Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the production
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional alternative vendors
  • Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
  • Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
  • Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
  • Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
  • Working closely with the company procurement team to make sure contracts and terms are favorable
  • Collaborates with other local departments, in group teams and external suppliers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

EXTERNAL: Suppliers, Customers

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS - PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE

  • MUST HAVE:
    • Proven 3 to 5 years of domain experience in production planning / product management, Supply chain and/or Marketing
    • Method (New product coordination, Products knowledge, Demand planning, Business & Market knowledge, S&OP, Project Management)
    • Knowledge of production KPIs (efficiency, OEE, extra consumption, finance elements)

 

SOFT SKILLS - PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE

  • MUST HAVE:
    • Good communication skills
    • Good relationship skills and team working
    • Flexibility

 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management/Engineering/Business or other equivalent disciplines

 

LANGUAGES:

  • MUST HAVE:
    • Korean (preferably mother tongue)
    • English (at least intermediate level, both written and verbal)
  • NICE TO HAVE:
    • Other Languages (Italian, French)
